Effective communication is the key to success in interacting with others. It is an essential skill, valuable in every aspect of corporate or personal life.
There is a major difference between communicating and manipulating. This program emphasizes that critical difference and teaches skills to communicate effectively. Efficient, focused communication is particularly important during periods of change or challenge and in high-tension situations which are regularly encountered in the business world, such as:
- Maintaining productivity during periods of major changes: new products and markets, reorganizations and financial restructuring.
- Developing action plans, schedules, agendas and mission statements.
- Instituting improved, responsive customer service procedures.
- Supervising effectively.
- Avoiding missed communications, and salvaging those which do occur.
Participants will learn how to:
- Sharpen their people-reading skills. Sixty percent of a message is conveyed through body language. Most individuals have more information available to them than they are currently using.
- Become active, involved listeners who hear the message inherent in the situation and respond appropriately.
- Improve written communications.
- Evaluate body language - both their own and the messages conveyed by others.
If time permits, listening exercises will be incorporated into the program in order to enhance each participant's ability to communicate and to improve his or her listening skills.
